September is upon us, and with a new month comes a new Featured Friend! Meet Maple, an adorable little 15 month old mixed breed who’s been a part of the Roscoe’s pack since April of last year. She may be little, but don’t let that fool you! Miss Maple is quite the mix of energy, personality, and spunk, with a whole bunch of cuteness baked right in. Plus, as her name implies, she’s oh-so sweet! We can’t wait for you to get to know her!
Not much is known about Maple’s past prior to finding her family, but now that’s she’s found her forever home life is simply perfect for the pup! Living in Maine, Maple, or Turkey as her parents sometimes call her because of her turkey-legs, enjoys taking long walks through the trails, romps on the beach and, her favorite past time, picking up a Puppuccino from the local Starbucks. Yum! Maple also enjoys getting spoiled by her parents who like to gift her with snacks of scrambled eggs and, of course, tons of snuggles! Perhaps her favorite thing, however, is being a big sister to her cat brother, Cheeto, whom she likes to chase and wrestle with. Who says cats and dogs can’t be friends? For Maple, she’s just being her best, big sister self!
Of course, there is one mystery about Maple’s past that has since been solved after her adoption: her DNA breed type! Curious about what makes Maple who she is, her parents sent out her DNA to be tested by a company who helps pups like Maple trace their family tree. You might be surprised by what the test revealed! According to Embark Dog DNA, Maple is mostly Bluetick Coonhound, Chihuahua, Rat Terrier, and Labrador Retriever. That’s quite a combination! Of course, our own test might say she’s 25% spunk, 25% sass, and 50% fabulous, but that’s just our opinion! Whatever Maple might be, however, she’s perfect the way she is and we’re just happy she’s living her best life. That’s one mystery solved!
And speaking of living her best life, when she’s not chasing her brother or out for a stop at Starbucks, Maple likes hanging out with all her friends right here at Roscoe’s! As she’s still quite young and full of lots of puppy energy, Maple can often be found wrestling with the puppies in the active group or romping around with her smaller pals while out for recess. Truly, Maple gets along well with everyone and makes friends wherever she goes! She also loves a good cookie and will do the cutest little dances to get a treat. It’s hard to say no when she decides it’s time to breakdance! Maple has always been such a sweet treat (pun intended!), and we feel lucky to have her in our lives. She certainly knows how to brighten up a room and put a smile on your face! We couldn’t ask for more than that.
