Roscoe’s Featured Friend of the Month: Tallulah

back to blog

We’re so excited to kick off 2021 with our newest featured friend, Tallulah! This spunky, sweet, and somewhat shy girl is the perfect pup for our January special because she’s always positive and fun to be around… just the type of dog you want to party with for the new year! Tallulah is an (almost) 2 year old Collie/Shepherd mix who has been a part of the Roscoe’s pack since September of 2019. Right off the bat we knew she was a special pup, and we’re so happy to be able to share her story with you now. We think you’ll love her just as much as we do!

Tallulah as a puppy!

Tallulah’s story starts half way across the country in the lone star state of Texas. She was found as a stray at only eight weeks old wandering the streets with her brother. She was skittish and scared and didn’t trust a lot of people, but was still able to be rescued and put up for adoption. Tallulah’s mom first laid eyes on her through a rescue site online where Tallulah was to be brought to Rhode Island for an adoption event. Before ever having even met her, Tallulah’s mom adopted her online and and eagerly awaited the day she could bring her new puppy home in June. Now that’s what we call love at first sight! When the time finally came for puppy and human to meet, Tallulah’s mom knew she had made the right decision and fell instantly in love with her new furry family member. As for Tallulah, she was still rather skittish and recovering from some health issues, but was beyond happy to have found her forever home. As her mom recounts now, Tallulah has come a long way and with patience, training and a whole lot of love, she’s now her more confident, spunky self! We’re so proud of you Tallulah!

Tallulah enjoying the sun outside!

Now at almost two years old, Lulu, as she is sometimes called, loves to spend her days playing outside and being the best version of herself. Since moving to Maine, she has learned that she LOVES the snow and could frolic and play in it all day. Being outside is really her forte and there’s no walk, hike, run or swim that little Lulu wouldn’t do! When she spends her time inside, however, Tallulah is happy to relax with her mom and enjoy the company of her favorite stuffed dinosaur toy. She even gets to share a frozen Kong with him every morning as part of her daily routine! According to her mom, Tallulah is the perfect pup at home “with the occasional stubborn and sassy streak.” We couldn’t imagine it any other way!

Luckily for us, Tallulah also loves to spend time with other dogs and truly benefits from her time here at Roscoe’s. Although somewhat shy in the beginning, we have loved watching her blossom and really come out of her shell. Lulu can often be found with the younger more energetic pups playing chase and wrestling to her heart’s content. She tends to make friends with every dog and absolutely loves to lead the way outside (her favorite activity!) where she can climb up and down the ramp. Plus, if it’s a snowy day, Tallulah will be the first dog to roll around and catch snowflakes on her tongue! We feel honored to get to share in Tallulah’s life and help her be the best dog she can be. Heres to another year of frolic and fun with miss Tallulah!
